I was recently chatting with Sanjeev Somani the CEO of www.tribyl.com and he had an interesting ask. Tribyl analyzes call transcripts from Gong / Chorus / Clari and provides extremely detailed insights into your voice of customers, why you win deals, why your customers buy, the buyer journey etc. You can read about it here.

Sanjeev was trying to get a list of companies that use Gong / Chorus / Clari. As sales people we live and die by our lists and the narrower and specific the niche the better our outreach can be. So how does one get a list of companies that use a certain product?

Coincidentally, I was chatting with Edward Moore at www.pipelinegeneration.ai and he was using an interesting hack to identify what products companies own as part of the account research that he provides. His hack was to look at open roles and look at what tech stack is mentioned in the job roles. What he does is quite sophisticated but I was wondering if I could just find a list of companies that have jobs that mention Gong / Chorus / Clari.

My journey has been to find GenAI products that drive real business value and this is the kind of use case that I would want to use GenAI for. Over the last couple of weeks I have been playing around with www.clay.com. Clay is an extremely versatile tool. I think of it as a product that has a combination of integration / automation and GenAI.

One of the main use cases that I have been using Clay for has been list generation. So I decided to put Clay to the test and sure enough, I was able to find about 1200 companies that have listed jobs that involve Gong / Chorus / Clari.

While this was a pretty simple use case for Clay to handle, it can do much more. For example, once I have the list of companies and the jobs, I can use Clay and GenAI to read the job post and summarize it. I could use it to segment out whether the job was for Gong / Chorus or Clari.

My workflow stopped here but Sanjeev can pass this list to his SDR and have him build another list that has a list of companies hiring PMMs (Sanjeev's ICP). He can use Clay to compare the 2 lists and build a really targeted list of companies using Gong / Chorus / Clari that are hiring PMMs. He can also use Clay to find the hiring manager (from the PMM job post, if needed) and have Clay generate an outreach email that can then be integrated from Clay to tools like Smartlead and Outreach.
